Born in Bogota, Colombia, Nicolas Alvarez is a composer/songwriter who has dedicated his life to create and perform music.
His experience as a musician began with his school concert band writing songs and performing at local schools. Nicolas took private classical music lessons with recognized musicians, and simultaneously enrolled in a classical percussion program at the Junior Symphonic School of Colombia where he studied writing, arranging for orchestra, and performance. His interest in jazz and rock later led him to start playing drums at age 23, at which time he began taking modern music theory lessons at the Colombian School of Jazz.
In 2000, Nicolas began working at a private school in Colombia, awaking his passion for teaching music. He then moved to London in 2003 on where continued teaching music and also began working on many projects as a composer. His work includes corporative videos, background music for TV, and composing and arranging music for various other media projects. He then moved to Tokyo in 2005 with his family where he is currently working together with Australian producer, Kurt Jessen, on music projects worldwide.
Nicolas holds a Master Certificate in Songwriting and Music Business from Berklee College of Music (2007-2009).
Currently, Nicolas is the creative director of Arriba Entertainment, Inc. Japan.
