Bio:
Marty Batista was born in the Dominican Republic and grew up in Queens New York. Started playing piano at 10 years old.
Studied at Berklee College Of Music and shortly after that recorded with bassist Fernando Saunders and drummer Tony Smith of the Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Marty then moved to Jamaica West Indies and joined the Junior Marvin Explosion band and shortly after joined Bob Marley's Wailers Band for the next 16 years recording and touring all over the world
opening up for Santana, James Brown, Al Jarreau and Bryan Adams just to name a few.
He also toured with HR Hudson from Bad Brains with his Human Rights band.
Marty has also played and recorded with various local Bay Area bands throughout the years.
His original music encompasses a myriad of genres from Classical, Jazz, Funk to Rock and Electro.
Apart from working as a touring keyboardist, composer and producer, Marty works as a music educator and video game composer/sound designer.
