Sound designer and composer Si Tew started his career in the small town of Leamington Spa as a bedroom DJ and producer. He quickly progressed to playing in clubs and fields drawing in crowds by the age of 16. Following his love of music he progressed to DeMontfort Uni in Leicester where he studied a BSc in Music Technology for the three years which were to kick-start his future.
The first step in the journey was the Urban Music Bursary from the BBC which was awarded for his contribution to the music industry. It was here where he met Mantis Recordings label bosses who offered him a job as assistant sound designer on AAA published video games at their studio in Derby. To progress to the next level Si Tew moved to Derby setting up his personal studio at Mantis HQ. Here he began writing and recording for film and television whilst continuing to develop his own style as an up and coming underground producer.
Collaborating with label boss Martin ‘Atjazz’ Iveson, under the name MIST, the pair have released several globally acclaimed tracks as well as Si Tew’s own remixes. With his name now stamped firmly on the map, the release of Si Tew’s debut solo album is set to cause a real stir, so keep your ears open…
