Steve Nathanson is a multi-faceted composer, songwriter, instrumentalist and media industry veteran. His music has been featured in Emmy Award-winning network series (NBC), major cable channels (Sundance, HGTV, OWN, Style Network, National Geographic, Fuse, DIY, History), Fortune 500 media (ELI LILLY, MERRILL LYNCH), online sites (PEOPLE.COM, PROFOOTBALLWEEKLY.COM), and on recordings by independent artists Janet Speaks French (Seven Records) and None of The Above (Front 9 Records). His catalog embraces a wide variety of genres (from pop, alt rock, and country, to folk, children’s music, and classical), and demonstrates his versatility as a writer. Nathanson is also founder of Further Lane Music, an independent publishing company and production house with worldwide placements.
A music industry veteran, who has previously worked for A&M, MCA, and Sony, Nathanson served as GM of Better Place Records (Whitney Houston’s imprint with Elektra), and established a compilation series for Martha Stewart with Rhino Records. He has also held positions with Paramount Pictures and the former Orion Pictures.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Steve Nathanson began his professional musical career as a drummer/percussionist, subsequently adding piano, guitar, bass and other instruments to his repertoire. Nathanson, who has lived in Paris, Los Angeles, Boston and New York, currently resides in Montclair, New Jersey.
