Bio: VAHN is the work of Jonathan Vaughan, a writer and performer based in London, UK.

VAHN’s music encapsulates the electronic disco of the late 70s and early 80s whilst updating the sound for a modern clubbing generation. Layered over this mix are dark, post-punk vocals of sexuality and obsession.

VAHN’s music is best described as ‘Dark Disco’ – the electro synth disco of Giorgio Moroder, Kraftwerk and Goldfrapp with the brooding darkness of 80s new wave acts such as Depeche Mode, Gary Numan and Joy Division.

Jonny grew up in Bristol and was a part of the burgeoning Bristol Hip Hop and indie scenes developing a passion for mixing genres that would characterise his later projects.

In the early 90s Jonny moved to London where he met Gary Robinson and joined Drum n Bass outfit Rareform (New Vision Recordings) for gigs and festival appearances across the UK and Europe before starting work on the punk/dance crossover act Poisonflow. On hearing the early demos, seminal UK house and techno label Kickin Music snapped up the album and Poisonflow grew into a dynamic 6 piece studio and live act.

In 2008 Gary and Jonny (along with Ben Fawce and US artist Altered Conduct) founded Urban Sickness Audio, a label dedicated to developing the best in dance music from artists in the UK and America. The label continues to grow, receiving regular airplay on Radio 1, Kiss FM and gaining support from the Scratch Perverts , Grooverider and Pendulum amongst others.
Jonny continues to write and produce music for television. His tracks have seen successful placements on various channels worldwide, recently including the soundtrack to a James Bond special for MTV.
