John Mernagh is an award winning singer songwriter from Swansea , Wales in the U.K .John's music has been described as acoustic soul with a rocky edge !!. John's primary instrument is acoustic guitar although he can also turn his hand to Piano , Bass , Harmonica and mandolin .
John was 18 when he played his first guitar chord . It was from that age he decided to put music to the songs he had written from when he was only 15 .
John has toured the UK with gigs in London , Liverpool , Manchester , Birmingham , Leicester and Wales .
John's music has always received a great response and was a key factor in his superb cd sales . 500 albums were sold in the first week of its release on myspace in 2006 .
Johns music has received great reviews within the music industry . Having submitted songs to international songwriting contests , Johns music has come out on top of the pile . His song No mans Land was a category winner in "Song of the year" in march 2008 . He was also given a runner up position in the same contest with "Shining star" .
John also had success in the UKSC contest with several finalist and semi finalist positions as well as a very respected runner up position .
With this success on board he was contacted by a music publisher and has pitched several songs to major TV and film companies as well as other artists .
