In 1999, David Chong (aka Matt Makaha) won an Honorable Mention in The 9th Annual Billboard Song Contest with "Victim of Your Love." His song "I Need Your Lovin" earned him an honorable mention in the 10th Annual Billboard Song Contest. He was the winner of the Country category in the 2006 VH1 Song of the Year contest for the month of April. He had his song "I almost said I loved you" placed in the ABC TV soap opera "One Life To Live." He has songs licensed to Private WAVs, IFMP, Platinum Music (UK), Daddy Jack Music, Pump Audio, and Audiosparx. He writes both vocal and instrumental pieces in the genres of Pop, Rock, R&B, Country, & Jazz.
