Sean composes and produces music that cuts across multiple diverse musical styles, from classic symphonic to techno, front-porch acoustic and bluegrass to rock to sound design, with special interest in ethnic folk music and in non-linear video game music. Sean's focus is blending diverse influences for the sake of exploring, supporting, and developing visual media.
While informally trained by countless generous others, he was also formally trained at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he received a Master's Certificate in Arranging. His writing method approaches composition and production as inseparable in contemporary music, and he works in the two areas simultaneously rather than only in separate stages.
The discipline for production and detailed midi engineering is derived from his experiences creating software: A former Principal Scientist at Adobe, Sean has deep experience with development processes and cross-team collaboration, and possesses advanced technical knowledge of audio engines and digital audio software.
He is the son of a former professional flutist mother and a jazz-loving artist father; he's a stepson-brother-father-husband and he has been the human owned by several magnificent dogs. At this moment, if he is awake and not working, he is probably plugged into his iPhone, hearing Jeff Tweedy warble a tune or pumping his fist to Dvorák's Cello Concerto.
