Bio:
Have you ever heard of a three-piece band writing, recording, publishing and broadcasting music 6,000 miles apart? The band, Head Chemists are doing just that and a lot more. Between building their own full fledged recording studio, the Electraquarium in Durham, NC and broadcasting the new music over the airwaves on radio station KCOF in Hawaii, the whole spectrum of music experimentation is happening to these three talented songwriters, John David Parsons, BenJamin Prichard and John A. Loy. Head Chemists Publishing Company LLC began in 2007 already has a catalog of 200 recorded original songs registered with BMI.
After the successful release in 2005 of their debut album, Bittersweet Melody, Head Chemists continued on with the process of writing and recording new music and annually releasing samples of their music online for their fans. The bands fan base has been steadily growing through creating band pages on servers such as MySpace.com, Pure Volume.com, Home Grown Music Network, iSound.com, MP3.com and NumberOneMusic.com. Through the use of the Internet their fans and music are all at the click of a button.
The band and HCPC plan on continuing to place their music in films, music videos and commercials. In 2002, John Loy wrote the music for the comedy, “The Big White Wall” and then in 2007 produced with John David Parsons the soundtrack for “A Christmas Family Tragedy” which was nominated for the Capote Awards, Best Music for a True Crime Documentary and in 2008 they placed seven Head Chemists songs in Elon University’s Project Pericles documentary, “A Rivers Reach.” Plus they’ve recorded and produced the long awaited debut albums by North Carolina bands, Anonymous and the White Knuckle Truckers.
