Bio: It is rare to catch Jimpy behind a set of decks or CDj’s these days, but if you do, he will rock you!

After over 12 years playing week in and week out at residency’s and club tours globally, Jimpy decided to take a break from the dance music industry and adventure into the world of Gaming and Betting. Now five years on, with a successful Gaming business providing content to some of the leading online Casino’s and Sports books, Jimpy decided it was time again to once again unlock the studio, pick up the head phones and partially come out of music retirement. Let’s face it; at just 35 with so much experience, it would be a shame not to allow the new breed of clubbers to experience Jimpy’s passion for making people dance!

So where did it all begin? Jimpy began clubbing at the tender age of just 15 stumbling across the ‘Star Club’ now Eden on Ibiza. From that night on Jimpy never looked back, attending clubs such as ‘Shelly’s’ in Stoke on Trent, (home of the legendary Sasha) DJ SS’s weekly event ‘Total Kaos’ at the Starlight 2001 in Leicester, The Eclipse in Coventry and raves such as Dreamscape, Vision and Amnesia House all across the UK.

On moving to Cardiff in 1993 he became the resident DJ of what was to become quite possibly the most famous and by far one of the most ‘rockin’ clubs in Wales – The Hip’po Club! The Hip’po is where Jimpy really learnt his trade, warming up and finishing nights alongside the biggest names in the business. Sasha, Digweed, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Ricky Stone, Sven Vath, Sister Bliss, John Kelly, Laurent Garnier to name just a few…. The Hip’po really was the place to be!

In 1997 he entered the UK Ministry of Sound mixing championships and came 2nd and then in 2000 he was voted 54th best DJ in the World by DJ Magazine!

If that was not enough, Jimpy went on to launch his own successful weekly club nights – Enter the Dragon @ Vision, (launched Feb 11th 2000 with Paul Oakenfold) and then later ROAR. He was often seen on clubbing Tv shows such as MTV, Rapture and Club@Vision with his partners in crime Andy and James Mitchell of the ‘Crazy Club’ – London Astoria.

Alongside DJ’ing, Jimpy established his own recording studio and enjoyed success as a signed artist with labels including - Whoop Records, Southeast, Star 69 (New York), Deviant, Dorigen and Celsius.

His tracks found their way onto the albums of legends including;

Sasha - Global Underground 13
Paul Van Dyk - ‘Politics of Dancing’
Hernan Cattaneo ‘Live from Beunos Aires’
Remix of - Tomcraft ‘The Circle’ (Kosmo)
Remix - of Victor Simonelli ‘Do You Feel Me’ (Mountain Records)
Remix – of Lenny Kravitz ‘Believe’ (Pangea USA)
Hollywood box office smash ‘The Beach’ staring Leonardo Di Caprio.
And many more….

Some of the clubs and tours Jimpy played included: The Hip’po Club, Enter the Dragon - (resident), Slinky, ROAR, Timeflies, Cream - (tour), Back to Basics, Renaissance - (tour), Miss Money Penny’s - (tour), Godskitchen - (tour) Gatecrasher - (tour) Good Greef – (tour) The Escape Club, Naughty But Nice, Republica @ Bakers - (Resident), Labyrinth - (Zurich), Queens – (Hong Kong), Watapalava tour – (Various USA), Club Quality - (Helsinki), Club SOI (Northern Ireland), The Government (Toronto) and Zouk (Singapore).

Today Jimpy is comfortable playing Progressive House with some funky Techno and Tribal Beatz thrown in for good measure. But then on the flipside, Jimpy is just at home playing a more euphoric Trance sound. In fact he hates to be pigeon holed into one style and will pull on any track to fit the time, place and atmosphere. To Jimpy it’s all about the journey, making people happy and not being scared to do something just a little bit different….
