Composer Stephen Akina is a native of Hawaii and began his music career as a classical pianist. His background includes teaching at San Diego State University, and has performed with several orchestras.
In 2006 his work “Seven” was commissioned by the Pasadena Pops Orchestra in Los Angeles for a fundraising event and inspired Stephen to pursue composing.
The scores of composer Stephen Akina are artistic, tasteful fusions of symphonic, electronic and ethnic musical flavors, enhancing the presentation of any project.
Stephen’s music featured in over a dozen films and heard on every major television network along with numerous cable productions. His symphonic arrangements and adaptations are performed by major orchestras worldwide and enjoyed on critically acclaimed award winning video games.
Stephen is a registered affiliate of BMI.
