Voted “Favorite Jazz Artist” (Creative Loafing), GWEN HUGHES has sung anywhere they will let her for over a decade. Member of NARAS Board of Governors 2008-2012, serving on Membership Committee and Jazz Outreach Committee; recent travels to Eastern Europe and North Africa created music clinics for children & adults, as well as concerts with local musicians in the regions; named Artist in Residence at GA Music Hall of Fame, 2009; bandleader of both RETRO JAZZ KATS and CONTINENTAL DANCE ORCHESTRA, playing 200 dates a year; 5 albums on record label, FAIRFIELD RECORDS, with placement in film, television and online media. Recent placements include “Medium Raw: Night of the Wolf;” (Defiant Empire); The Discovery Channel’s “Man vs. Wild;” and “Kerberos” (My Thai Productions).
