Michael Hewett entered Berklee College of Music on a scholarship as one of the college's youngest students. Upon graduating with a BA in Performance, he moved to New York City to pursue his musical career. In 2000 Michael released "Hidden in Plain Sight,” a collection of original compositions written for solo acoustic guitar. His second CD "Being in Dreaming," was released in 2002 to international critical acclaim and features arrangements for guitar, full ensemble, and strings. In 2005, Michael wrote, produced, engineered, and mixed his third CD entitled "Ally,” a collection of diverse ensemble and solo compositions for electric, acoustic, and classical guitar. In 2009 he completed 'Eleven Pieces', his first formal classical guitar album.
Currently, Michael has played lead guitar for the hit Broadway musical "Wicked" [2005-2009], is contributing blogger and video instructor for Guitar World magazine, composes for film, television and dance. He tours internationally with his original project.
