Bio:
JÉRÔME LANGLOIS, COMPOSER
SNAPSHOT SUMMARY
Co-founder of “MANEIGE” (an elaborate, rock-fusion group of the ‘70s, that seduced a large public across Canada, with it’s strong musical creativity), Jérôme Langlois has since composed and arranged for a wide variety of highly popular, national and international film and television productions, always pursuing his personnal projects of concerts and recordings. One of his goals has been to create bridges across musical shores, notably between classical&popular music, “serious”&”non-serious” music. In this way, with the group Maneige, he has introduced the “rock” public to elaborate musical developments.
His music is always in the service of emotion and instinct. This accounts for the personal style of his compositions, which are inspired as much by the classicism and impressionism of Ravel, Debussy or Brahms, as by the more recent music of Zappa, Emerson or Jarret.
His studies include several years of musical composition&analysis training with the québecois composer André Prévost.
