Burke Long is a North Carolina country/rock artist and producer who specializes in authentic southern music. Burke has just released a new cd titled Cold Winter Moon that features 14 new country rock originals. Cold Winter Moon is a beautiful showcase for Burke's strong country vocals and tasteful guitar work. In January 2009, his single, "Fort Worth City Lights" was featured on the Cowboys and Outlaws playlist along side songs by Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakam and others.
Burke produced the record at his studio, DB Recording, in North Carolina with additional tracking of drums and pedal steel done in Colorado. Many of the songs were written during the winter of '07 and inspired by cold weather lyrical themes. Holidays, an ode to making it through the most wonderful time of the year, is a roots rocker that would make Chuck Berry proud. Cold Winter Moon puts you out driving on an empty country highway, and the haunting harmonica and baritone Johnny Cash guitar leave no doubt it's a lonely ride.
Cold Winter Moon is available for purchase or download at all the usual places including CD Baby.com and digstation.
In addition to working on the new record, Burke maintains a busy live schedule playing dates with popular North Carolina duo Melonbelly and producing projects for other artist.
