ANDRE FISICHELLA (SYLAN) lives in Nice – France
As a child he grew up listening to classical music with his father, and rather late, as a teenager, he went to the music conservatory in Nice. Inspite of his studies, he remains an atypical musician, open to all styles of music.
From 16 to 20 years, he composes and plays drums in a group called SHYLOCK. They record two albums produced by CBS and give concerts all over Europe. 25 years later, their records are still commercialised in Japan and the United States. He records his music in several big european studios together with Andy Scott at Super Bear and meets Alan Parson, Patrick Moraz of Yes at Aquarius and Patrice Quef at Le château de Miraval.
Already passionated by film music, he composes the music of a short film : “Tant d'années de bonheur” with Edwige Feuillère. They won the first price of the amateur film festival in Cannes in 1978. A few years later he writes music for TV and radio commercials : UNICEF, PEUGEOT, CASINO, Caisse d'épargne, Editions XO, S.A.P, Résidences décoration … He produces and composes music for TV films and documentaries : "Lyon police spéciale", "Musique du ciel", "Le Lot aux deux visages", "Lac de Bambois", "Stent"... André composes music from classical to jazz, passing by ethnical music. He also writes and produces music for televison programs: Home shopping Europe, Autovision (RTBF), Plein les yeux (TF1), Chic (Arte), C'est pas sorcier (France 3), Envoyé spécial (France 2) … and menu DVD : Flash Gordon, The pillow book (StudioCanal).
Since 2000, he creates a band : SYLAN, with his wife Sylvie (singer), with whom he signs a lot of albums for “music library” for professionals. Lately, he realized the soundtracks for an american short film : "Passing through" and for audio books ("Crim sur la prom", "On line", "In-vitro"...)
In 1987, he creates his own recording studio: Studio Arion. He writes several songs for local artists and records Mario Barravecchia and Lucie (Star Academy), Cécilia Cara (Roméo et Juliette). Marilyne Desbiolles (winner of the Femina price in 1999) collaborates with the lyrics of several songs. In 2004 he co-writes a song: “Arrivero” for Mario Barravecchia, with UNIVERSAL. In Studio Arion, he records international stars like : Herbie Hanckock, Vinnie Colaiuta, Rock Voisine, Peter O'Toole for the american film: Nuts Cracker, as well as european artists : Umberto Tozzi, Stella Vander, Patrick Juvet, Michel Roux, Robert Waechter, Georges Descrières, Jean-Marc Jafet … In the future he wants to compose and produce music for films, without forgetting to write songs.
