Bio: Jonathan King is back in stage mode and serving up his hybrid form of Funk, EDM and Soul all over the world. New releases and shows are in the works.
Influenced by the high energy funk artists of his youth, Jonathan formed his first band at the age of fourteen. While learning from the top producers in the industry, such as the Dust Brothers, (producers of "Tone Loc" , "The Beastie Boys", "Young MC" and "Beck"), Jonathan developed an ear for what makes people dance.
Jonathan spent his early years writing and recording with the original vocal trio "King Size", while polishing his skills in the southern California clubs singing and playing "Old school funk". This period proved to be a key element in his growth as an artist. During that pivotal period Jonathan was also fortunate to be called upon by one of the top production teams in the industry (The Dust Brothers) to add his specific and unique sound to one of their most successful projects; (Beck "Where it's At").
In the summer of 2004, Jonathan began a collaboration with LA area house producer David Hopper, immediately striking a common vision as musical artists. Working together on various projects such as "Brothers of Soul" , "Soul Provider" and various house music projects lad to the inevitable formation of the production duo presented to you now as metro local. Bringing all his years of production in the hip-hop and R&B dance fields to combine with the talents of David Hopper in the styles of House, Club, and Breaks, Jonathan provides half of the chemistry it takes to create new, innovative sounds that continue to be true to the street, intelligent, and original.
Jonathan King has played with the following artists and more:
Mike Isberto., Dust Brothers, David Hopper, Beck, Whispers, Queens Of Seven, Rio, Michael Carlos, Eliza King, Digital Underground, Hed PE, Red Hot Chili Peppers, DJ D'Morse, DJ Loczi, T Lopez, Christopher Wight, Soul Provider, Brothers of Soul.
Jonathan's voice could be described as a deep baritone, especially well suited for moody soulful songs as well as the highest energy dance music. (think James Brown) With his constantly evolving writing style, Jonathan continues to come up with original approaches to the subject and messages included in his songs.

While still performing in clubs and writing and producing , pop, rock, hip hop and house, Jonathan is available to produce individual projects as well as remixes. Contact Jonathan at:
