Bio:
Jive Ass Sleepers is the music of Stuart Moore, a keyboard player/composer/producer born and raised in London and now based in Sacramento, California.
He developed a love of funk, jazz and dance music during the 90s upon hearing Jamiroquai's debut album 'Emergency On Planet Earth.' This led to him exploring the roots of this style of music, discovering along the way Herbie Hancock, Roy Ayers, The Crusaders, Average White Band and many others. Growing up in the UK he also listened to a lot of dance music, especially House, where he became influenced by Basement Jaxx, Masters at Work and Daft Punk as well as the chilled out sounds of Zero 7 and Groove Armada.
Stuart started writing music in 2001 and quickly developed his own funky, laidback sound as part of the short lived funk-soul-rock band Sugar Brown. He then went it alone developing his own unique sound of jazz and funk infused dance music. In 2003 he graduated from the university of Sheffield in England and was soon a professionally performing musician.
At the moment he is focusing on composing music for use in TV, film and all forms of media. He has a large collection of original music covering genres such as Funk, House, Jazz, Chill-Out, Latin and Orchestral. Recently his music has been used by MTV on the show 'Pieces Of Me-The Best Of Britney At The VMA's, the PBS show 'Wired Science', HBO documentary 'Real Sex,' Fine Living Network and HGTV and advertising and marketing companies such as 7th Art, The Concept Factory and Driver TV.
