Ensemble Pachamama was founded in 1989 with the aim to perform traditional music of the Andes. The music is composed by authors from Bolivia, Peru, Argentina and Ecuador as well as by the members of the group, and is based on the original South American rhythms.
The members of the group use authentic South American musical instruments. They sing in Spanish and Quechua. All the members have a musical background and learnt to play their specific instruments and rhythms themselves.
