Bio:
A Brand New Brand of Energy is an experimental post-rock collective. Instruments used: Guitar bass drums, laptop assortment of fx and vocals. The band''''s music incorporates live drums, bass, guitar, and vocals, layered over laptop-generated drum loops and ambient noise. The band''''s name comes from a lyric in the Andrew Wood (lead singer of Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone) song "Luxury Bed (The Rocketship Chair)."
You can hear the band''''s music in the independent feature film by David Jacobson, "Dahmer", and the many films of J.M. Magrini: "Wild Mother of Passions", "Nada", "Medea in Corinth", "Sappho on Fire", the Andy Warhol inspired "Beautiful Boys and Girls: Superstars 2003", and "Suffering the Legitimacy of Aesthetics."
And although the band has never actually seen any of the following episodes of the following shows because they don''''t have cable, we''''ve been told (read: they got paid) that the band''''s music has been featured on NBC''''s "Mom''''s on Meth," VH1''''s "Gene Simmons Rock School," MTV''''s "Room Raiders," Discovery Channel''''s "Extreme Engineering," The History Channel''''s "Big Texas," A&E''''s "Heir Apparent," as well as on The N Network''''s reality TV show "Girls v. Boys," and The Food Network''''s "What''''s Hot! What''''s Cool! - Episode 1," and lots, lots more.
If you''''re lucky enough to live in Chicago (and have cable) you might be able to catch the band on an old episode of the cable access television show "Chicago Underground" which can be seen within the Chicago city limits on cable channel 19 (CANTV).
And remember, ''''only you can prevent forest fires.''''
