Long ago and far away, Chip Mergott was signed to London Records, made an out of print (but legendary in some circles) album produced by David Spinozza, and subsequently was described by Bonnie Raitt in this way: "Chip Mergott is one of my favorite songwriters."
In recent years Chip as become known for his production work, his live concerts-solo and with his wife, folksinger Annie Bauerlein and particularly, for the success of his two instrumental releases "Hymns For Acoustic Guitar," and "Silent Night."
One of his songs "Waltzing With Your Photograph" has been published in Nashville by Vince Gill''''s company, "High Seas Music," and his band "The Stingers" final cd "My Home Isn''''t In This World," is available for the first time now as a download on itunes and other services.
In the course of his career Chip has worked with Rick Marotta, Michael Brecker, Elliott Randall, Richard Tee, John Tropea, Hugh McCracken and of course, David Spinozza and Bonnie Raitt.
Chip and Annie recently welcomed the latest addition to their new trio, son Eli (born in January 10 2006.)
