As in individual performer Wendy won the 3rd Annual Robert Johnson Solo Acoustic Guitar Contest (long name!!). The room at Murphey’s literally went quiet when Wendy began to sing, and when she was done with the Hell Hound Blues, a sigh of appreciation rippled through the audience.
Wendy won several hearts that night.
Wendy’s powerful voice sets her apart from her musical peers, most especially her ability to sing a long, legato line. This is a rich, torchy voice, full of subtlety and range. Though now she’s singing the blues, Wendy’s credits include playing Cinderella in a London production, and singing leading roles in several University of Washington operas, and soloing with the Seattle Chamber Singers/Broadway Orchestra.
