Buddhist Priests Clean Up For Millions Of New Year Visitors
CHIBA, JAPAN – DEC. 13: Priests at a major Japanese Buddhist temple served year-end cleanups of dusts prior to the new year's eve and following days when millions of well-wishers are expected to visit to pray for good fortune during the fresh year. At Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, in Narita, Chiba Prefecture just east of Tokyo, priests used handy dusters and 10-meter long bamboo branches
for the annual cleanup service which dates back a few hundreds of years. About three million people visit this temple during the few days of the newyear, making it one of the top places to attract the largest number of new year's visitors in Japan.
