Removing flood debris from the river in Glenridding following storm Desmond, Lake District, UK.
On Saturday 5th December 2015, Storm desmond crashed into the UK, producing the UK's highest ever 24 hour rainfall total at 341.4mm. It flooded the Lakeland village Glenridding, which was just starting to repair when another period of heavy rain on Wednesday 9th December caused the Glenridding Beck to burst its banks, causing yet further destruction. This picture taken the next morning on Thursday 10th December of diggers trying to clear flood debris from the river.
