Kilauea 'Fire Hose' Lava Flow

Video shot at Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park by SMM Photography. The flow of lava from Puʻu ʻŌʻō pouring down the cliffside into the ocean at Kamokuna. USGS estimates that 1 to 2 million gallons of lava are pouring into the ocean per hour. Courtesy USGS: 'The 'firehose flow' at Kīlauea Volcano's Kamokuna ocean entry is clearly visible from the public lava viewing area established by Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. The viewing area is 800 meters (about one-half mile) from the ocean entry and affords excellent views of the lava flow.'
