John Lydon interview

John Lydon interview; Q: why didn't the Sex Pistols stay together longer? John Lydon (partly overlaid) SOT - bad management had lot to do with it / we were put together in such ramshackle way that we never gelled as human beings once we started to work together Q: interesting was your view of Jimmy Savile and your knowledge that it was going on? John Lydon SOT - unfortunately, all of us, the peoples knew what was going on with the BBC Q: as bad as we now know it was? John Lydon SOT - yes / we all knew, you go to Top of the Pops, what you were facing / it was common knowledge but wasn't common knowledge in the media Q: did it stop at Savile or were the performers also doing this? John Lydon SOT - no doubt some of the performers were up to messing about with under-age girls but that wouldn't have been my way / I've always viewed myself as a victim so am always there for the disenfranchised Q: what do you make of the politics of today? John Lydon SOT - vile nonsense, stupidity, lying and deceipt will always be part of political agenda - they come across to me, modern politicians, and particularly those in Britain right now, as uneducated morons Q: they've been to Eton John Lydon SOT - they're over-privileged... yes, they've been to Eton Q: is the revolution complete? John Lydon SOT - no, what I'm doing isn't about adding new agendas to people, it's making things more acceptable, which would be fine by me Q: like what? John Lydon SOT - I don't want to be judged as being a total revolutionary because I'm not interested in that / society can carry on doing what society does / I've had problems since childhood and the book deals with that - when I recovered from meningitis, took me four years to find my full memory / the pain you go through of not remembering your own parents / it took a lot out of me to go back into my childhood and face that pain and regurgitate the death of my parents and the lonely isolation of that / don't thin...
