It is one of the most important festival in the country and draws tourists from all over the world. The events include two carnival style street parades (Vía Blanca de las Reinas and Carrusel Vendimial), with each regional Queen having her own chariot. The events culminate in Acto Central (Central Act), during which the Queen of Vendimia is elected from 17 regional costestants. It takes place in Frank Romero Day Greek theatre. Vendimia ranked number two in National Geographic's Top 10 World's Harvest Festivals.
