Title:

Normanton Church, Rutland Water

Caption: Normanton Church, Rutland Water. St Matthews Church was designed by Thomas Cundy and built in 1826-9. The church was saved from destruction by a voluntary subscription when Rutland Water was created by damming the Gwash Valley in 1975. The church was deconsecrated and is now a Water Museum, although it is occasionally used for private functions.
