'Citadel' , Stockholm Though in it's current form it's only been a ceremonial building. Built on the spot of it's predecessors after a gunpowder explosion in the mid 1800's.However during ww2 it took on the mantle of it's predecessor and became part of stockholms fixed air defences. You can still see the characteristic ring of bolt's in the ground where the anti aircraft guns where placed. The island itself was part of the Stockholm Naval base untill it moved into the atomic proof base at Muskö.
