As the last Yugoslav king Petar II Karadjordjevic was reburied in Serbia on May 26, hundreds of supporters of his post-World War II political rival, communist leader Josip Broz Tito, marked the 121st anniversary of his birthday throughout his former homeland. Josip Broz was born on May 25, 1892 in Croatia. He later became Yugoslav communist party leader and a lifetime president of Yugoslavia. He died on May 4, 1980 and after his death Yugoslavia fell apart and the socialist ideas mostly vanished in the region torn apart by nationalist policies led by his successors in all ex-Yugoslav republics.
