The Defense Department said the ship was attacked by a terrorist suicide mission during the early morning hours of October 12, 2000. An explosives-laden rubber raft slammed into a U.S. Navy destroyer and exploded in the Yemeni port of Aden, killing four U.S. sailors and injuring 31, five seriously.
