VIETNAM-LUNAR-CHINA-NEW YEAR

This picture taken on February 23, 2013 shows a man walking under Chinese-made red lanterns hanging in the village of Uoc Le on the outskirts of Hanoi for the Lunar New Year or, known as the Tet celebration in Vietnam. Many northern Vietnamese Red River delta localities, especially in rural areas, have been decorated with imported Chinese-made red lanterns for the celebrations. Earlier this month the local daily Tuoi Tre (Youth) reported some Chinese-made lanterns bearing the Chinese characters "Nansha", the Chinese name of the disputed Spratley islands chain in the South China Sea in which Vietnam also stakes claims, had been seized by local Vietnamese authorities in northern Vietnam.
