OMO RIVER DAM, ETHIOPIA - MARCH 19, 2013: This is a satellite image show the controversial Gilgel Gibe III Hydroelectric Dam project under construction in the Omo River Valley in a remote area of the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples (SNNP) Region of Ethiopia. When complete, the dam will be the largest in Africa, the fourth largest in the world and will reportedly have 1,870 MW of installed power—increasing the country’s electrical supply by 234 percent.
