GANSU PROVINCE, CHINA - APRIL 11, 2013: The Second Artillery Corps (SAC) of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is the command element for China’s strategic missile forces, controlling the nation’s land-based nuclear and conventional ballistic missiles. Located in the remote southwestern portion of the Nao-mao Ko-pi (Gobi Desert), the Dunhuang ordnance test facility is 130 kilometers west-northwest of Dunhuang, Gansu Province.
