QINGDAO, CHINA-JANUARY 23, 2013: The People�s Republic of China is one of the few nations whose armed forces still operate a long-range heavy-duty amphibious flying boat�the Harbin SH-5 (Shuishang Hongzha 5, Maritime Bomber 5). With a crew of 5+ depending upon the mission, these remaining three aircraft now operate in maritime surveillance and search and rescue roles as the 3rd Independent Air Regiment of the 7th Air Division.
