Mohican Vessel Travels On Lake George Near Rogers Rock
HAGUE, NEW YORK - AUGUST 1: The Mohican passenger vessel passes by Rogers Rock August 1, 2013 on Lake George in Hague, New York. The Mohican has been operating on Lake George for 105 years. Rogers Rock is named after Robert Rogers, an American-born frontiersman and scout for the British army who battled with French and Indian troops in 1758 as British forces attempted to gain control of Fort Ticonderoga (known then as Fort Carillon) but failed. Rogers escaped from a major battle where hundreds of soldiers and Indians were killed by sliding down the sheer face of the small mountain. (Photo by Robert Nickelsberg/Getty Images)
