The front pages of Colombian newspapers published on January 23, 2014 and displayed at a news-stand in Bogota, show pictures of Monaco's Colombian football striker Radamel Falcao Garcia, being carried away on a stretcher following a challenge by Chasselay's Soner Ertek during a match of the French Cup on Wednesday. Falcao will require surgery on the left knee injury, while the club revealed their star forward had suffered 'an anterior cruciate ligament strain'. Falcao faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and although the club did not specify how long they expected him to be out of action the news will raise concern over his World Cup participation.
