FRANCE-POLITICS-SUICIDE-FUNERAL

The coffin of the late French Socialist Party (PS) senator and former mayor of Tours Jean Germain, is carried out of the Saint-Etienne church on April 13, 2015. Jean Germain committed suicide on April 7 prior to appearing in court and his body was found dead near his home in Tours the same day, after his lawyer found a "farewell letter" on the first day of his trial in the so-called "Chinese Wedding" case, in which he was charged with illegal taking of interest and concealment of public funds.
