Pius XI (1922-1939), who was Pope when the pacts were signed is the true 'founder' of Vatican City State . The exposition - titled '1929-2009.: Eighty Years of Vatican City State' - will be held until May 10. Vatican City State was founded following the signing of the Lateran Pacts between the Holy See and Italy on February 11th 1929.
