Pirates Of Somalia
BITALI, SOMALIA - OCTOBER 29, 2008: Somalia has been suffering a drought for the past 3 years, which has killed 60% of the country's livestock. The fighting around Mogadishu is causing a massive displacement of people towards Galmadug province, where 40% of the population is relying on food aid distribution to survive. The pirates do not hesitate to hijack humanitarian ships carrying food, thus depriving Somali people from their rations. Here, in Bitali village, ICRC is distributing bags of maize. Each bag is supposed to feed 2 families and to last 6 months. (Photo by Veronique de Viguerie/Edit by Getty Images)
