The US Senate Foreign Relations Committee unanimously approved Tuesday Senator John Kerry's nomination as secretary of state, succeeding Hillary Clinton, a senator said. Senator Barbara Boxer told reporters that Kerry, who is the committee's chairman but did not vote, received the unanimous vote of his colleagues.
