US-MID EAST PEACE-SIGNING
US President Bill Clinton (2nd R) signs the Peace agreement with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (R) and Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat (L) and Jordan's King Hussein during ceremonies of the interim Middle East peace agreement 23 October 1998 in the East Room of the White House in Washington, DC. The agreement was reached earlier 23 October during talks at the Wye River Conference Center in Wye, MD. The deal hit a snag when Israel demanded the release of a convicted spy, Jonathan Pollard, who is serving a life sentence in a US prison. It is reportedly unclear whether or not the issue has been resolved. AFP PHOTO Tim SLOAN (Photo by TIM SLOAN / AFP) (Photo by TIM SLOAN/AFP via Getty Images)
