The 224 hectare area, had sunk under the seawater by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami causing 80-centimeter land subsidence, was thought to be the final untouched ground for search missings. Okawa Elementary School, where 70 out of 108 pupils were killed by the earthquake triggered tsunami, used to be located the upstream site and still 38 including 4 pupils are missing in this area.
