People visit the virtual exhibition 'The Treasury of Marseille' (500 BC : Marseille's Splendour in Delphi) at 'La vieille charité' on January 10, 2013 in Marseille, one of a number of exhibitions opening in Marseille in relation to the city being named 2013 European capital of culture. On January 12, the city will be named capital of culture which will kick off a range of exhibitions and events. In ancient times, a 'treasury' was a small, richly sculpted building which was used to house precious objects. For this exhibition, 29 relics considered national treasures in Greece will go on display for the first time outside their home country. Thanks to new technology, visitors will be able to visit a 3D reconstitution of this building.
