[UNVERIFIED CONTENT] Named for the Georgia-born poet and musician, the Sidney Lanier Bridge was built across the South Brunswick River in 2003 to replace the original lift bridge with the same name. It is one of the few cable-stayed bridges in the United States with a harp stay arrangement, in which the cables are nearly parallel to one another.
