UNITED KINGDOM - JANUARY 04: Laryngeal instruments, early 20th century. A syringe, lancet, forceps and cutting dilator. The syringe belonged to the German laryngologist, Professor Adelbert von Tobold (1827-1907); the lancet and forceps belonged to the famous English surgeon, Sir Morell Mackenzie (1837-1892) and the cutting dilator, made by Down of London, was used by Whistler for stenosis of the larynx.
