Mandala sand painting, known as dul-tson-kyil-khor in Tibetan, which literally means 'mandala of colored powders', is a unique art of Tibetan Buddhism. The grains of sand are laid on a flat platform with special tools, forming iconography including geometric shapes and spiritual symbols, resulting in a work of art that usually takes a monk a couple of weeks or months to finish.
