Teen's Death Triggeres Clashes In Kashmir

Kashmiri Muslims gather around the body of Qaisar Sofi, a 16 year old boy who succumbed to his injuries, during his funeral on November 05, 2016 in Srinagar the summer capital of Indian administered Kashmir. Dozens of Kashmir Muslims were injured after Indian government forces fired live bullets, teargas shells and shot gun pellets on mourners carrying the body of Sofi who died at a local hospital last night. Sofi was found in an unconscious state a day after he went missing on October 27. He was admitted in a local hospital where he breathed his last yesterday late in the evening. The family and locals allege that Sofi was poisoned and tortured by Indian government forces. A claim forces refute and said the boy had consumed poison on his own. Nearly 100 civilians have been killed and over 15000 Injured during the fierce protests over the killing of a young rebel commander Burhan Wani as an ongoing unrest in Indian controlled Kashmir enters its 83rd day. The violence in the area is the worse since 2010 and the protests have triggered a heavy crackdown by Indian government forces which include many strict curfews.(Photo by Yawar Nazir/Nur) (Photo by Yawar Nazir/NurPhoto via Getty Images)
