Caption: WASHINGTON, D.C., MARCH 1, 2013: John Van Zandt, who heads the youth development of The Young Parents Program at the Latin American Youth Center, takes care of the right party lights for the Rainbow Talent Affair event at the center. The event, which is organized by the center's STRIPE group, a gay-lesbian-bisexual-transgender (glbt) support group, brings together gay youth and non gay youth. STRIPE provides an important safe place for glut youth who are particularly vulnerable to bullying at school and violence outside their schools. Because of the possible sequester her non-profit could lose $300,000 in federal funds which is very bad news when is comes down to helping youth at-risk.
