Huge improvements at Eldora Ski Area
NEDERLAND, CO - NOVEMBER 9 - John Kerry, information technology director, checks out the fiber optics on the new multi-million dollar Doppelmayr 6 person high speed lift at Eldora ski area on November 9, 2017 in Nederland, Colorado. Powdr Corp, Eldora's new owners, have invested $10 million over the summer into the resort, more than the last 25 years combined. The improvements include a 6 person high speed chairlift called The Alpenglow which will get skiers and snowboarders to the top in 4 1/2 minutes, 1/3 the time from the old lifts. Also done was a complete renovation of Timbers Lodge and the rental and demo gear area inside the lodge. New signs have been made throughout with the company's new Alpenglow color. The company also has updated the food at the resort using a local chef to create new menus for the restaurants at the resort. (Photo by Helen H. Richardson/The Denver Post via Getty Images)
